Today I went to pick up our pieces from the State Fair, and guess what? Everyone got a ribbon! We were all very excited, proud, and incredibly supportive of one another as we went through each award. You should have heard the applause in this place as I announced what ribbon each person got. We had 21 entries in all- four of our individuals got 1st place ribbons, three got 2nd place ribbons, two got 3rd place ribbons, plus we managed to snag a 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th place ribbon, plus a smattering of honorable mention ribbons! I could not be more proud of the hard work that each artist put into their entry, and am pleased as punch that their hard work and creativity was rewarded in such a wonderful way! You guys rock!!!

Hey all! So things have just been going great for us, and we have more good news! A few months ago we had applied for a project arts grant from the city to fund a film we want to make.... and we got the grant!!!! We will be starting work on the project in October, and it will be a stop motion film similar to the "How to Dream" video you can find on this link:
https://vimeo.com/129115886 We are very excited as we approach this project, and are so grateful to the Salt Lake City Arts Council for their assistance in making this project a reality. If you want to make your day better, I recommend you check out some of our other videos on vimeo (https://vimeo.com/turnartscenter/videos) that were made in Natasha's film making class- we've got some fantastic videos on there! Also, you can view them on our brand new projector at our next gallery stroll! Other than that, we have been keeping busy creating art, music, and just plain expressing ourselves! Today we created some beautiful paintings in our music painting class as we were listening to Blues music. We were even able to get Karen to paint today! |
