Hey all! It's been a crazy busy month, but things are finally starting to calm down a bit. What have we been busy with? Art of course! As I said in my previous post, we had several artists submit artwork into the Utah State Fair this year. 21, in fact! Well, I am pleased to say that everyone did fantastically when it came to the judging this year! So here's the rundown: August got best of show, Linda and Katie G got 1st place, Katie F and Jessica D got second place, Monica and Chris got 3rd place, Jon E got 4th place, Darin got 5th place, Cyd got 6th place, Nikki and Walter got 7th place, and Jessi, Jon W, Tim, Devan, Shane, Earl, Ann, Richard, and Tyler all got honorable mention! Yup, we pretty much took our entire category! So congratulations to all of our wonderful artists!!! The other thing we've been busy with, is the Urban Arts Festival. The festival took place this last weekend on Saturday and Sunday, and except for the times that we were worried our whole booth would fly away, it was a blast! It was great connecting with the arts community and being able to tell so many new people about who we are and what we do! We sold a few pieces, met some great people, and had a great experience! We even had some great volunteers join us for a bit on Sunday :) Until next year (hopefully) Urban Arts Fest, until next year.

Will we see you at the Urban Arts Festival today? We'll be here 12-10 today, and 12-8 tomorrow- come drop by and say hi! We're booth 94 in zone c. In case you don't know what that means, we're West of the stage just on the East side of the Wells Fargo building. See you there!
Well, it's definitely our busy season for showing art, and this year especially so! We already have several pieces being shown out in the community, and also have an arts festival coming up! So first of all, every year the Cottonwood Heights Arts Council holds a community art show. We've had a few artists participate in the past, but this year several more artists (10 total) were interested in exhibiting their work. If you'd like to go check out their work, they can be viewed at the Cottonwood Heights City Hall Building (2277 Bengal Boulevard) until the end of September. Next, the State Fair starts today! As usual, we had many of our individuals who were interested in showing their artwork in the state fair. In fact, this year we have the most participating artists yet, a whopping 21! It's always exciting to show artwork at events that get so much foot traffic, and everyone is very excited and anxious to see what ribbons they got! Their artwork can be viewed in the fine arts building (usually our category is in the back corner of the building), and the state fair goes through September 16th.
Last, but certainly not least, we are participating in the Urban Arts Festival again this year!!! This is always a really fun event, and a great opportunity to show our clients' artwork to the community and to connect with other local artists. This year the festival will be taking place on September 15-16. We have been assigned booth number 94 in zone C (as soon as we have a map I'll post it). This is a free event, and is always a ton of fun! Come check out tons of local art and merchandise and enjoy some fun music and entertainment. Again, this is a free event!!! So come check us out! Arriving on Trax is probably the easiest, as parking around the Gallivan Plaza can be a little tricky. If you will be driving, I know the parking underneath the plaza only accepts cash on event days like this, so make sure you bring cash with you. We hope to see you there! |
